According to the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning & Engagement, 83% of young people believe they will have the power to change the country. Since 2016, more than 15 million young people turned the legal voting age of 18.

The National Executive Board (NEB) of Gamma Alpha Omega, encourages all our members to register to vote and become active participants in their local and state elections as well as November’s Presidential election. We are challenging chapters to join the ‘When we all Vote’ initiative, co-founded by Michelle Obama, Liza Koshy, Megan Rapinoe, Selena Gomez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monáe, Chris Paul, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Tim McGraw, Tom Hanks, Faith Hill, Shonda Rhimes, and Rita Wilson. Participation in this campaign provides members with voter education resources and encourages civic engagement.

You, our members, are the best people to encourage our sisters, fellow Greek leaders, classmates, and others to get registered and ready to vote. We want to see alumnae and collegiate members participate in this nonpartisan initiative, When we all Vote. You and your chapter can participate by doing the following:

Become a Poll Worker

Established by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, National Poll Worker Recruitment Day is a day of action with the goal of encouraging potential poll workers to sign up to Help America Vote in 2020. Each state recruits poll workers differently. Typically signing up to be a poll worker is done with your local election office. In some places this is a county election office but it may also be a registrar or clerk at the county or local level.
