COLLEGIATE MEMBERSHIP

Gamma Alpha Omega invites women of diverse backgrounds and interests to join our Sorority, who share our standards of academic development, good character, financial responsibility, leadership ability and personal development. Recruitment is a time for sorority members and unaffiliated women to become better acquainted. Normally, this occurs at the beginning of the fall or spring semester. Some campuses only allow for once per year. Gamma Alpha Omega recruits new collegiate members during an organized process on college campuses called recruitment. Recruitment on each campus varies, so it is important to get information from the Greek life office to understand the times and requirements of recruitment. Our recruitment allows prospective members to spend time with chapter members through informal setting like philanthropic events and campus activities.

When a chapter of Gamma Alpha Omega decides to invite a woman to affiliate through our intake program, that invitation indicates that the chapter has identified values and characteristics in that woman that align with our organization. This invitation to participate in the intake program allows for the woman to learn more about Gamma Alpha Omega and about herself, to assure the she is ready for the lifetime commitment to our sorority. Just as the chapter promises to teach and mentor the prospective member(s), the prospective member also promises to grow and reflect through the program.
