LEGACIES

“Legacies” are potential members whose relative is also a member of our organization. Legacies are valued potential members during our recruitment process. Meeting these women is important to building loyalty to our sisters, but ultimately, membership is the decision of both the chapter and the woman going through recruitment. These decisions are often a matter of women finding a chapter and organization where they will be the happiest and have the most rewarding experience.

We also take into consideration whether a young woman is a legacy—a potential member whose mother, grandmother or sister is an Gamma Alpha Omega. We value our members and love meeting legacies. Unfortunately, though, being a legacy does not guarantee membership. Gamma Alpha Omega-initiated family members should complete a recommendation form and review our legacy policy.

Overall, membership in Gamma Alpha Omega is mutual. Our recruitment processes helps us get to know women we think might be a good fit, while prospective members get to learn more about us and decide if we’re the organization for them. It’s important for both sides to feel like we’re a good match.
