Gamma Alpha Omega cultivates its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, service and lifelong friendship. Our Sorority will provide a rich and rewarding collegiate experience for your daughter, filled with an exceptional blend of opportunities to empower her from college onward.
Once your daughter graduates, she will have formed lifelong friendships and will continue to receive support as an alumna through the Sorority’s alumnae activities and networking programs. Gamma Alpha Omega is committed to helping our members achieve their greatest potential at every stage in life!
We determine this by seeking women of diverse backgrounds and interests who share our standards of academic development, good character, financial responsibility, leadership ability and personal development.
Gamma Alpha Omega recruits on a semester basis, some chapters also recruit during summer.
We recruit all of our new members through Fall or Spring recruitment process at colleges and universities where we have chapters. Our recruitment allows Potential Prospective to spend time with chapter members through informal setting like philanthropic events and campus activities.
We also take into consideration whether a young woman is a legacy—a potential member whose mother, grandmother or sister is an Gamma Alpha Omega. We value our members and love meeting legacies. Unfortunately, though, being a legacy does not guarantee membership. Gamma Alpha Omega-initiated family members should complete a recommendation form and review our legacy policy, both available in our Resource Center.
Overall, membership in Gamma Alpha Omega is mutual. Our recruitment processes helps us get to know women we think might be a good fit, while prospective members get to learn more about us and decide if we’re the organization for them. It’s important for both sides to feel like we’re a good match.
Gamma Alpha Omega is a not-for-profit corporation and relies on the national fees from its members to finance yearly operating expenses and chapter services. Each collegiate member is responsible for both national and local dues and fees.
Learning about the costs of Gamma Alpha Omega—whether paying membership fees or serving as a chapter leader and learning how to operate on a balanced chapter budget—is part of the learning experience.
